Trio to Herman De Quetteville Robin 13th Bn AIF, Gallipoli & BEF
Pte 2438 Herman De Quetteville ROBIN 13th Battalion Australian Imperial Forces Originally enlisted Boulder WA before being released from service to travel to NSW to enlist with his Brother. Following training was sent to Gallipoli arriving late September 1915 after 6 weeks on 20th December during the Evacuation he sprained his ankle being Hospitalised in Alexandria. Herman was then one of 53 men sent to join the 4th Division AFA as part of the 10th Field Artillery Battery in France .Various admissions to hospital followed until August 1918 when Herman was discharged with Delusional Insanity. His complete and fascinating life has been recorded with 112 pages of military records and a superbly written history of his military and personal life covering his complex life and struggles until his death being privately produced and available for all to read. Please google this man and read this document about the De Quetteville ROBIN family held on the Mosman council N.S.W library website. I have never seen such a comprehensive archive about a fascinating man and his tragic life, my short description cannot do the archive held on him justice. The medals are correct in every way .
