Canadian, The Argyll Light Infantry (Tank) cap badge
White metal version in mint condition.
In 1936, as part of a broader reorganization of the Canadian Militia, the regiment was converted to an armoured role and redesignated as The Argyll Light Infantry (Tank). During the Second World War, it served in a reserve capacity and did not see active combat overseas. In 1946, the regiment transitioned to an artillery role, becoming the 9th Anti-Tank Regiment (Self-Propelled) (Argyll Light Infantry), RCA.
On September 1, 1954, the regiment was amalgamated with The Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment and The Midland Regiment, reverting to an infantry role under the name The Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment.
