The badge also includes the Latin motto “SAGITTARII,” meaning “The Bowmen,” reflecting the regiment’s adopted motto.

The 2nd/10th Dragoons were formed in 1936 through the amalgamation of the 2nd Dragoons and the 10th Brant Dragoons, both of which had served as cavalry units in the Canadian militia.
