The 243rd Battalion, was established in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, in the spring of 1916, it recruited members from areas including Saskatoon, Prince Albert, Yorkton, and North Battleford. The battalion sailed to England in June 1917 and was subsequently absorbed into the 15th Reserve Battalion upon arrival.
