The 8th Punjab Regiment was a British Indian Army infantry regiment that played a significant role during World War II. It was formed in 1922 by the amalgamation of several older Punjab regiments and was later absorbed into the Pakistan Army in 1947.

During WWII (1939-1945), the regiment saw extensive service in multiple theaters, including:
North Africa Campaign (1940-1943)
Battled the Italian and German forces, including Erwin Rommel’s Afrika Korps.
Participated in key battles such as El Alamein.
Burma Campaign (1942-1945)
Fought against the Japanese Army in the Arakan, Imphal, and Kohima battles.
Served under the Fourteenth Army, commanded by General William Slim.
Italy Campaign (1943-1945)
Took part in the Allied invasion of Italy.
Involved in battles around Monte Cassino and the Gothic Line.
Middle East & Other Deployments
