Formed: October 1945 from wartime AA groups; initially in Germany after WWII.
Later based at Strasbourg, then sent to North Africa in the mid-1950s. The regiment operated in Algeria during the war of independence (its colours bear the inscription AFN 1952-1962).
Detachments worked in the Aurès–Nemencha/Batna area; elements even supported Commandos de chasse in that sector.
Disbanded: 30 Nov 1961.
